Sanskrit has played a vital role in development of all Indian languages and has preserved the social, religious and cultural heritage of India. None Indian language can be flourished without help of Sanskrit. It also has provided the theoretical, philosophical and practical aspects of ancient science. Hence, it becomes essential for us to preserve and promote Sanskrit for holistic development of new generation of India. Therefore, keep in mind this Idea Asannagar Madan Mohan Tarkalankar College has started Sanskrit department in 2007 with UG General course and has upgraded the course to UG Honours has started in 2009. This department is playing a vital role for holistic development of present buds.

Mission of Sanskrit Department is to promote and preserve the higher values and ethics of our glorious past and to pursue excellence in all areas of Sanskrit. One most important goal of our department is to create employability.

2. Good teaching learning environment and student-centred teaching.
3. Good performance of the students in co-curricular activities.

Weekness

1. lack of permanent faculty .
2. Loss of teaching hours due to different types of examinations held in the college.
3. The teachers are not computer-savvy Opportunities.

Opportunities

1. As our college is located in the backward region, it has a great opportunity to provide quality education to the under-privileged and weaker section of the society.
2. enhance teaching and learning ability of student and faculty through exchange within other colleges .
3. Teachers are appointed as examiners, paper setters in universities examination in the UG level .
